Synopsis

In Skywalker, a white timber door frame is combined with a black chair, rope, and glass. The objects defy gravity, suspended in mid-air or balanced precariously.

Narrative

This piece captures the “liminal space” of migration—the state of being suspended between two worlds, walking a high-wire where one wrong step leads to collapse. Skywalker represents the dangerous journey and the active state of crossing a border.

The timber door represents the literal threshold of leaving one life and entering another. The chair acts as a proxy for the human body. Its uniform, black paint strips away individual identity, turning it into a symbol for any solitary, displaced person.
